Take part in a legendary journey for avid explorers

Set sights on a unique Arctic Watershed voyage through the wilds of the true Canadian boreal forest. Upon your return, be served a fantastic dinner and some of the best local wine. This is a sample itinerary. Each package can be customized for group size, age, interest, and timing. Alterations resulting from unforeseeable circumstances may occur. Your guides’ utmost priority is your safety, please follow their instructions closely.

DAY 1

Arrive at Wawaitin Holiday Park for 3:00PM. Meet your guide, enjoy welcome refreshments, take in orientation, registration, and water safety. Feast on a hearty outdoor meal and just take a breath. It is time to relax. You have arrived. Light a campfire and take it all in.

DAY 2

After breakfast, depart with your wilderness guide on a two hour journey to Tatachikapika Lake, where your legendary journey will begin. From here, all rivers flow north to the Arctic Ocean. Paddle the exhilarating and challenging Tatachikapika, visit the old railway town of Gogama, and put your head into the most north of waters.

DAY 3

You are now paddling your way through Tatachikapika Lake, northbound to Tatachikapika River. After a filling shore lunch and a visit to the fire tower, continue north and onward with your legendary journey.

DAY 4

Local native heritage is the today's theme while paddling beautiful Miskwamabi Lake. Perhaps you will find time to take a break to pick some wild mushrooms and photograph the otters cracking clams on the shore.

DAY 5

Today is for Miskwamabi Lake. Northern Pike are abundant so catch a big one (Over 20lbs!). You may also have the opportunity to view and photograph other wildlife, such as a majestic moose or a curious black bear.

DAY 6

Some quick portages and you are flowing north east towards the Mattagami River. Set up camp at near the last set of large rapids and with luck, catch some trout for dinner. And for dessert... bannock anyone? Go wild!

DAY 7

This is the final morning of your journey. Float on to the Mattagami River and paddle to visit a generating station before returning to Wawaitin Holiday Park. A special 'thank you' lunch will be ready and served upon your arrival. Please come see us again!
